Our Annual Turkey Outing and dinner will be at Camp Sugarbush this year at the Shelter house. It is part of the Blendon Woods Metro Park but the entrance is off of Cherrybottom Road. Across from the Wyandotte Winery sign. The park road will go straight back and you will take the fork to the right and follow that to the parking lot. It is a private area with a outdoor latrine, campfire area, shelter with lights and nature trails through the woods.
The scouts will arrive at 8:00 A.M. to help set up the campfire and turkey oven for cooking. Another Boy Scout Troop may be joining us for the day.
Saturday, November 12th at 4:30 PM will be the turkey dinner for all families and scouts, including siblings. You may bring your own tableware, if you prefer, or use the tableware supplied by the Troop Committee. The main dishes for the dinner will be turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, & green beans, all provided by the Troop. We only ask for extra side dishes and/or desserts & drinks to share. (Bring serving utensils for your dish). Please label your dish if it has nuts in it. (For those that are allergic.)
Bring along any outdoor gear for fun & games. Bring camp chairs for around the campfire. Be sure to dress for the weather. Wear layers, headgear, gloves, boots, etc. and remember that it cools off after dark. Bring flashlights for the trails and the latrine.
Head Count deadline: by November 9th please. (So we know how many turkeys to cook!)
Please call Susan Nichols at 614-476-5640 with name and # of family members attending, on or before November 9th. Or you can e-mail your reservation information to the troop700@hotmail.com address.
